Ronnie Tarchichi’s academic achievements highlight his passion for learning and advancing education. He holds two doctoral degrees that form the cornerstone of his expertise. In 2020, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Education from Temple University, specializing in Special Education and focusing on strategies to support diverse learners. In 2016, he earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Rowan University, which equipped him with the skills to guide institutions toward success.
In addition to these doctorates, Dr. Tarchichi has earned six master’s degrees spanning various disciplines. Between 2015 and 2018, he completed two Master of Arts degrees at Rowan University, focusing on Learning Disabilities and Special Education. His academic achievements include a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from The College of New Jersey, awarded in 2011. He holds a Master of Biomedical Science from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, a Master of Science in Biology from Rutgers University, and a Master of Education in Physical Education and Exercise Science from The College of New Jersey, completed in 2005. His academic foundation began with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Philosophy from West Virginia University in 2004.
Leadership in K-12 Education
Since 2024, Dr. Tarchichi has served as the Executive Director of Education and Principal at the Mary Dobbins School & Legacy Treatment Services in Hainesport, New Jersey. He oversees academic and therapeutic programs for students in grades 5 through 12. His leadership ensures students achieve academic growth and personal development while enhancing the school’s facilities and educational offerings.
From 2016 to 2024, he held the role of Superintendent of Pennsauken Public Schools, a district with a $172 million budget. Under his leadership, the district saw the creation of over 20 career and technical education programs, including those in fields such as culinary arts, cosmetology, and Air Force JROTC. Dr. Tarchichi also facilitated partnerships with colleges, allowing students to earn up to 60 college credits before graduating high school. His tenure saw the establishment of the Roosevelt STEM School, Pennsauken’s first top-ranked state school, and the development of advanced facilities like a $7 million Field House and a competition-grade track.
Before this, from 2013 to 2016, he served as Superintendent and Principal of the Woodlynne School District. While there, he secured a $4 million ROD Grant for facility improvements and significantly improved student achievement. The mayor and Police Chief of Woodlynne recognized his efforts and honored him with a Leadership Award.
Contributions to Higher Education
Dr. Tarchichi has also contributed significantly to post-secondary education. From 2012 to 2017, he was an Adjunct Professor of Biology at Rowan University, teaching courses that prepared students for careers in healthcare and science. He has also taught at Burlington County College and Mercer County College, delivering instruction in biology, chemistry, and microbiology. His involvement with Temple University’s Upward Bound Program also allowed him to mentor high school students as they prepared for college by teaching foundational science subjects.
Culinary Arts Experience
Outside of education, Dr. Tarchichi has a notable background in the culinary arts. For 25 years, he was the Head Cook in his family’s restaurant. This experience instilled in him the values of hard work, teamwork, and dedication. Working closely with his mother, he understood the importance of commitment and service—principles he applies to his professional endeavors.
Certifications and Recognitions
Dr. Tarchichi holds impressive certifications, including Superintendent, Principal, Supervisor, and Certified Educational Facilities Manager (CEFM). He is also certified in instructional areas such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Culinary Arts, Driver’s Education, Health and Physical Education, and Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD). His certifications are valid across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.
His accomplishments have earned him multiple awards. In 2024, he received the "Superintendent’s Academic Achievement Award" for creating New Jersey’s top-ranked state school. In 2020, he was awarded the "Courageous Leadership Award" for his exemplary guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic. His career and technical education contributions have also been featured in educational publications, further highlighting his impact on the field.
